Description
Take It To The Grave Limestone Coast Pinot Noir 2025 (Australia)"The team was aiming to produce an expressive, good value and quality Pinot Noir with this wine. Not from the most traditional region for this variety, but they have done an exceptional job. Maturation is in a mix of new and older French oak. Ruby crimson hue, this is a savoury, herbal style with notes of cherries, mushrooms, raspberries, spices, animal skins and florals on the nose. There is good focus, a line of fine acidity and a lingering finish
"The team was aiming to produce an expressive, good value and quality Pinot Noir with this wine. Not from the most traditional region for this variety, but they have done an exceptional job. Maturation is in a mix of new and older French oak. Ruby/crimson hue, this is a savoury, herbal style with notes of cherries, mushrooms, raspberries, spices, animal skins and florals on the nose. There is good focus, a line of fine acidity and a lingering finish with satiny tannins. Should provide pleasure over the next four to six years" Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot
The 2025 Pinot Noir displays bright aromas of cherry, raspberry, and subtle earthy spice. The palate is elegant and medium-bodied, with fine tannins, fresh red fruit flavours, and a silky, lingering finish. This is a refined, cool-climate Pinot Noir that balances vibrancy with depth.
Take it to the Grave is a joint venture between Nicholas Crampton and South Australian winemaker Corey Ryan created to deliver interesting and rewarding wines whilst challenging a few established rules and preconceptions.
The 2025 vintage in the Limestone Coast was characterised by a mild growing season with consistent temperatures and moderate rainfall, promoting even ripening across red and white varieties. The cooler climate of regions like Coonawarra and Mount Benson contributed to wines with vibrant acidity and pronounced flavour intensity. Overall, the vintage yielded wines of superb balance and elegance, showcasing the region's cool-climate style.
Sourced from established vineyards in the Limestone Coast known for its distinguished Pinot Noir fruit. Fermented in three tonne open top fermenters with whole bunch influence and hand plunged twice daily. Partially matured in seasoned small format French oak before bottling.
