The Eames Plastic Chairs are an innovative reinterpretation of the famous and iconic Fiberglass Chairs, which were first introduced in 1948 and went into production in 1950. These new 'Plastic' versions have been in production since the 1990s. Unlike the traditional fiberglass chairs, the Plastic Chairs are made from through-colored polypropylene, giving the shell a more flexible quality and a deep, rich color.
With its simple and organic shape, the Plastic Chair has become the archetype of chairs with a fixed shell and a variable base.
