小野展嗣
 
　　1954年出生於日本神奈川縣。從小學生時期便熱愛各種昆蟲。於日本學習院大學法律系畢業後，前往德國的美因茲大學留學，主修生物學系（肄業）。為理學博士（京都大學）。自日本國立科學博物館（研究總監兼九州大學研究所客座教授）退休後，目前為名譽研究員、神奈川大學與帝京科學大學之兼任講師、日本動物學會會員。專攻領域為系統分類學、昆蟲學，另外特別專研蜘蛛，曾奪得國際蜘蛛學會獎。主要著作（包含共同著作和監修作品）有《小學館的圖鑑NEO昆蟲》、《小學館的圖鑑NEO危險生物》（均為小學館出版）、《日本產蜘蛛類生態圖鑑》（東海大學出版）、《動物學拉丁語辭典》（Gyosei股份有限公司）、《昆蟲王超級大戰圖鑑》、《最強戰鬥2 鍬形蟲大王X獨角仙大王 超級大戰圖鑑》（均為寶島社出版）等。
