De Vitis vinifera ‘Vanessa’ geeft in september kleine lichtrode pitarme druiven. De smaak van de ‘Vanessa’ is lekker zoet. Deze druif bloeit in juni en juli met onopvallende, groene, geurende bloemetjes. Daarnaast is de 'Vanessa' zelfbestuivend en heeft dus geen andere druivenplant nodig om vruchten te krijgen. De druivenplant ‘Vanessa’ is goed winterhard tot temperaturen van -20°C . De 'Vanessa' is goed resistent tegen ziektes als meeldauw. Hoe meer zon de druiven krijgen, des te groter is de oogst in september. Ook in het Nederlandse klimaat worden de trossen goed rijp en zoet van smaak.

Hoe verzorg ik mijn druivenplant?
De Vitis is een klimplant welke je in allerlei vormen kunt leiden en door goed te snoeien ook zeer compact kunt houden. Snoei hem wel zorgvuldig. Eind januari kan je de druif in de gewenste vorm snoeien boven de ogen. In juli en augustus knip je de overbodige takken weg om de vruchten beter te laten rijpen. De Vitis houdt van een zonnige standplaats in een kalkrijke en kleiachtige grond.

Hoe ziet mijn fruitplant er precies uit?
De geleverde Vanessa kan, afhankelijk van het bestelmoment, afwijken van de getoonde afbeeldingen. Omdat een vitis een natuurproduct is met verschillende groei- en bloeistadia, is het niet mogelijk altijd exact de juiste stadia in afbeeldingen weer te geven. Hieronder zie je hoe de fruitplant er per seizoen uit ziet.
