If you’re looking for something a little different from the usual Les Paul-style guitar, this is well worth a look.

 

This is a 2007 Burny RLC-85S finished in the classic Snow White finish, factory fitted with both the renowned Fernandes Sustainer system and a Floyd Rose locking tremolo. Models like this were never produced in huge numbers, making them increasingly difficult to find today, particularly in this colour and specification.

 

Built with a carved maple top over a mahogany body and a set mahogany neck, the RLC-85S delivers the rich, sustaining tone you’d expect from this style of guitar whilst offering considerably more versatility than a traditional single-cut. The 628mm scale length and comfortable neck profile make it effortless to play, while the Floyd Rose tremolo is perfect for everything from subtle vibrato through to full-on dive bombs.

 

The standout feature is, of course, the Fernandes Sustainer. Switch it on and notes ring on virtually forever, opening up an entirely different world of lead tones, harmonics and controlled feedback. Combined with the HPD-300 neck pickup and VH-400 bridge humbucker, this guitar is equally at home covering classic rock, hard rock, metal and soaring melodic lead work.

 

Overall the guitar is in very good used condition for its age. It shows honest signs of use including a handful of paint chips to the edges, some light scratches, hardware tarnishing and general cosmetic wear commensurate with age. None of this affects playability, and it remains an excellent-playing example of a genuinely uncommon model.

Received giftcard money to replace my plan-protected malfunctioning motherboard
I've been subscribing to the Asurion protection plan for a while. Recently, an Asus Prime PC motherboard I had bought a few months ago on Amazon stopped working well. I ended up considering filing a claim with Asurion to see if they would either fix/replace it or issue the purchase price money, so I could buy the failed electronics replacement component again for my custom-built PC. I went to the protection plan's website and started the claim filing process but couldn't find the category my failed component would be under in order to select it from the drop-down list. I ended up messaging the live customer service. The chat messaging was somewhat slow, the agent told me they were experiencing some communication delays throughout their systems. Ultimately, the agent was very kind and understanding, and completed the claim filing process for me on her side by asking me to provide the necessary info such as the item's product name, date of purchase, price before taxes, etc. I received a printable UPS shipping label in the email, printed it, and returned the item in the mail. Approximately 2 days later, I received an Amazon giftcard code in the email with the dollar amount equal to the item's price before the sales tax. Then I redeemed the giftcard code on the Amazon page and proceeded to apply the giftcard money to my next purchase of a replacement Asus prime motherboard, and it all worked out successfully. Therefore, I had no issues with the protection plan service and recommend it to others.

Fast and easy but I dont trust the process to be fully automated.
The process was very smooth and fairly quick. The only challenge I had was that the CLAIM status showed complete but I had to manually go look up the status. There was no email or notification it was closed. After manually checking the status, I called customer support and they said since I called in, they would process the payout. I wonder if I didnt call in if they would have processed it? Also, the phone rep said they would issue me a amazon egift card but then the next day I received a email saying they mailed out the payout. Affordable protection plan and superb customer care
I usually don’t buy extended warranty, but I took a chance and added a 4-year Asurion Protection Plan to my purchase of a Canon PIXMA printer. So glad I did!! After only a year and a half, my printer showed an error message 6800. Cannon website states “Support code 6800 generally indicates a failure with the logic board on your printer. Service will be required.” How convenient for that to happen shortly out of Canon’s regular 1-year warranty (🙄). I called Canon. Long story short…they couldn’t do anything for me unless I purchase a warranty plan from them and they send me a replacement or I would need to pay for a repair. No thanks. I called Asurion and talked to a very nice tech support person. She couldn’t get rid of the error message remotely, so she transferred me to another very nice support specialist, who helped me start a repair claim. Asurion mailed me a box with a lot of packing material, along with shipping instructions and label to ship my printer to them for free. A few days into the repair process, they determined my Canon printer was unrepairable and they emailed me an Amazon gift card that same day for the cost of my crappy Canon printer. They were in total communication via email throughout the repair process. I highly recommend Asurion, and I would definitely purchase another protection plan from them again.
