Sage the Oracle Jet SES985, Fully Automated Espresso Machine with Cold Extraction

The Sage Oracle Jet is the single-boiler Oracle, full auto grind-dose-tamp, 58mm commercial portafilter, integrated Baratza grinder, Auto MilQ hands-free steaming, Auto Queue workflow automation, and cold extraction for cold brew and cold espresso. All on a ThermoJet heating platform that's ready in three seconds and uses around 32% less energy than a traditional thermoblock. Dynamic touchscreen, dark/light modes, eight preset drinks.

For buyers who want Oracle-range automation and the 58mm commercial standard, without the size or price of the Oracle Dual Boiler.

Full auto grind, dose and tamp with Baratza burrs

The integrated grinder is a hardened high-carbon steel Baratza conical burr set with 45 grind settings. The machine grinds, doses, and tamps each puck automatically into the 58mm portafilter. Walk up with beans and a button press, walk away with a shot pulled to the right dose and pressure.

58mm commercial portafilter, 22g dose

Full 58mm commercial standard with a 22g basket dose, the same group size as the Oracle Dual Boiler, Sage Dual Boiler, and Lelit Victoria, Elizabeth, MaraX, and Bianca. 58mm tampers, distributors, bottomless portafilters, and precision baskets all cross over. This is the Oracle Jet's single biggest point of difference from the Barista Touch Impress, which uses the 54mm Sage ecosystem.

Barista Guidance, auto under/over-extraction detection

The machine detects whether a shot has been under or over-extracted and prompts grind adjustments for the next one. Not as hands-off as the Oracle Dual Boiler's Auto Dial-In (which adjusts the grind automatically without asking), but enough guidance to teach you what the machine's seeing and keep shots consistent without manual troubleshooting.

Auto MilQ with plant milk settings

Auto MilQ textures milk hands-free with optimised settings for cow, soy, almond, and oat milk. Adjustable temperature from 40°C to 75°C, eight texture levels. Plant milks get calibrated handling rather than a one-size-fits-all routine, which is the difference between properly textured oat milk and split oat milk.

Auto Queue, workflow automation

Queue the next step while the machine's still on the current one. Start the milk steaming automatically when the extraction finishes, or cue up the espresso pull as the milk finishes texturing. Saves the thirty seconds you'd spend waiting between stages, which over a morning's worth of drinks adds up.

Cold extraction, cold brew and cold espresso

Low-temperature extraction reduces acidity for a smoother, more harmonious cup. Cold brew in under three minutes, cold espresso with crema in under two, both hot and cold workflows from the same machine. Shared feature with the Barista Touch Impress SES882 at the level below it.

ThermoJet heater with heated brew group

Three-second warm-up from off to shot-ready. Around 32% less energy than a traditional thermoblock. The brew group itself is heated and adjustable in 1-degree steps, the detail that keeps extraction temperature locked through the shot rather than losing a degree or two to the metal at the critical moment.

Dynamic touchscreen with dark and light modes

The new display is four times more detailed and twenty times more responsive than the previous generation. Swipe through eight preset café drinks including the cold ones, save custom recipes, switch between dark and light modes. More polished as an interface than the Barista Touch's screen; less comprehensive than the Oracle Dual Boiler's 5.7-inch Quad-Core CPU setup.

Who the Oracle Jet is for

The Oracle Jet is the right machine for buyers who want full automation with the 58mm commercial group, in a chassis smaller than the Oracle Dual Boiler. It's the natural step up from the Barista Touch Impress for anyone who wants to move from 54mm into the 58mm ecosystem without giving up Sage's automation. If you want dual boilers for simultaneous extract-and-steam, the Oracle Dual Boiler is the one above it. If you don't need cold extraction or the 58mm group, the Barista Touch Impress SES882 is the Sage machine at a lower price point.

ONE At A Time now
Color: Aqua, Size: 2 Bowls
Thankful I bought two sets for this family of 4. Quite inconvenient to be able to make 2 people their ice cream while 2 others wait (or change their mind while waiting) Makes no sense why this set comes with ONE CHURN. Recipe booklet was minimal I got more from YouTube. Lids should come with the kit not separate. It was exciting to make yet disappointing we had to take turns and couldn't work together all at once. Ice cream was good, soft serve preferred.

Small Investment with Great Results
Color: Aqua, Size: 2 Bowls, Color: Aqua, Size: 2 Bowls
I'm just getting into making ice cream at home and after doing weeks of exhaustive research, including probably 100 hours of YouTube videos (I know, I have a problem, but the research is for me a big part of the fun), I was ready to set my budget at between $200 and $400 for a compressor ice cream machine. Then I ran across this Dash My Cup Set. I returned to YouTube and after just a few videos I decided that for a small fraction of my initial budget I could "get my feet wet" with the My Cup. Another deciding factor was that the Freezer Mugs were small enough to not sacrifice too much of my freezer space. I've made several batches of ice cream using both the included recipes and some I have found online and I must say, the results have been fabulous. Sure the finished ice cream right out of the machine is a soft serve consistency but after a couple of hours in the freezer you will have ice cream firm enough to form excellent scoops. Just be sure to follow good recipes otherwise you may end up with ice cream hard as a rock. So learning a bit about the science of ice cream is critical for good results. Although the portion size is small, it's actually bigger than I expected. I'm an ice cream lover and sure, polishing off the entire batch in one sitting is no problem but, I am definitely satisfied with the amount. And if you opt for the Set with the extra mug, you'll always have a mug ready for your next batch. Definitely the way to go in my opinion. The My Mug is very well made (as are most of the Dash products of which I have an Egg Cooker and a Waffle Iron) and the motor will turn the dasher through the thickest of recipes. If you overload with mix-ins it might run into difficulties but otherwise you're good to go. Will the My Mug be the "end game" ice cream machine? Probably not. But for a small investment I can experiment with different recipes and see where this new found hobby takes me. And even if I do get a larger, fancier and more expensive machine in the future, I will probably keep the My Mug anyway to test out new flavors. This way I can see what I like without wasting too many ingredients.

Not bad for an inexpensive ice cream maker
Color: Aqua, Size: 2 Bowls
For something this cheap, it’s definitely not that bad. The directions are easy to follow but I went and put the ice cream in the freezer for at least 30 mins more to cool the ice cream to the perfect consistency and it turned out great! After I made vanilla ice cream from the recipe in the book, I started concocting my own recipes and everything has turned out yummy!

Better than my $100 coffee maker!
Color: Black, Style: coffeemaker
Bought this to replace a very expensive coffee maker that broke after a year and a half. Works excellent! Freed up so much counter space. Saw complaints about the hot plate peeling so I always make sure the bottom of the coffee pot is dry and have had no issues. No leakage as long as the basket is in correctly. Love this simple yet very functional coffee maker.
